Well far be it from me to avoid the social media revolution any longer.  I do not have a Facebook page or a Twitter account but I have witnessed the power of the blog.  I have read chronicles of amazing things people have done and I know it comes from the motivation and accountability a blog can create.

So I have decided to try out for a women’s professional soccer team.  I will be two months away from turning 33 if I attend the tryouts in April 2013.  Looking at their current roster the average age of a player on the team is 21.

Think I stand a chance?  Follow my blog to find out!

I’ve been contemplating joining a sports team too in my area next summer, but the idea of being the oldest on the team, makes me feel, well..old!! 😦 Any advice to overcome this dreaded thought?

Check out this post: http://wp.me/p2vSZn-7p There are beginner leagues for almost any team sport out there.
I play with women in their 50’s and 60’s and they rock! One of the things I love about playing soccer as an adult is that regardless of skill level or age anyone can get out there and get a great workout in a team environment.

I will definitely be in your corner. I have three 13 year old daughters playing soccer, and following you may prove to be an encouragement for them. I will turn them on to your blog.

It is a terrific time to be a young woman in this sport. Opportunities are opening up left and right that were not there even ten years ago.
